Mercato : Part 2

And we meet again. My best marketplace in town.

I donno why lah. But I absolutely adore this place. I can spend hours looking, analysing, loving everything in it. Thank you pavi for providing a window to the world. Absolutely loving the stuff in it.

The cheese selections are interesting. Although Malaysians don't eat cheeses much because its quite expensive here but I'm glad I can distinguish feta from parmesan. Uuuu Uuuu! There is freaking frozen bagels! What cool right. Then there is these absolutely sinful area of the world best ice-creams. And so I scream.

To finish this post, I serve you with gnocchi! Its italian dumplings. And I love that about the world. Food can be absolutely wonderful! Oh I cannot wait to taste everything in this world. *Absolutely is use in overdose in this. haha

Sushi King : Wowee Happy Hour

Its been ages. Ages.! Since the last time I gobbled sushi. With a craving so strong, me and icah went sushi hunting at the best possible time (like what everybody suggested), during their happy hour. Hai sushi King.

And so yes, go ahead its 3 till 6 now. Every plate is at 20% off. I love anythin with tuna. So I go grab those. However its always the same kinda sushi on the conveyor belt, maki maki wasn't on the belt. And something a bit weird like with the octopus stuff wasn't on the belt. We must order out of the menu which will cost us (mad) in the service tax department. The fried stuff on the belt like the fried salmon skin and the egg balls all went soggy already BUT sebab we are super hungry and do not want to be super charged by the unbelievable service tax, we take from the belt.

I donno about you but I love japanese food. And fortunately my friend are on the same boat. If any of you know where we can get HALAL sushi Japanese restaurant do inform me a.s.a.p.! Anyways sushi King is like McD for our japanese craving. Just hope that they can tone down the service tax and gov tax. Mind you, the service charges here will go some way.

PS : Always felt weird and corny greeted by the workers by "sushimasennnn". Pronunciation is key people. haha

Best Waffle like Forever

You know when you think of your childhood your favorite food comes to mind. Mine is A&W waffle with ice-cream. When I was young, my dad will bring us to an A&W joint and promised us this for special occasions like if I did well for my exams or I won a competition or just a birthday treat. Every single time i take a bite of the waffle, i feel like I am 8 again.

The waffle coupled with 2 scoops of vanilla ice-cream is RM 6.70 if I'm not mistaken. Kalau rindu, I always go to A&W. Abah always tell me about how A&W was the first fast food place back in the days and how it was everywhere around town. Actually it came here in 1963 and that huge old one in PJ opened in 1965. It was the first drive-in A&W in Malaysia. How cool was that.

Never leave A&W without having its famous RootBeer. Face it, the best rootbeer in town by leaps and bounds. Although A&W is not as popular as before, everyone of us always have a soft spot for A&W in our hearts. Thus, please do not leave us yet.

Ikea and His Meatballs.

We start with a picture of a dish many crave and rave about. Many can give their own testimonial to this balls. Mama's friend sanggup go all the way just because she CRAVE these heavenly meatballs. People keep blabbering about it and even a petit lady I know can consume 20 of these. She said 10 is not enough. Really?

In Sweden they call it köttbullar (meatballs). The thing that makes THIS MEATBALLS extra special is the jam and gravy. Jam equals sweet and balls salty, who would have thought a combo can be so delish. 20 meatballs is price at RM16+. Served with fries and generous amounts of gravy. And another thing is kalau singgah Ikea, please please please please, treat yourself to a slice of Daim cake priced at RM 5+. This is an OBLIGATION.

Forest by Bubba Sparks

We wanted to eat southern y'all Alabama american food so Bubba Gump Shrimp Co was picked as our iftar destination. There is a ramadan set offer; with every main course you get soup or salad and mini dessert of the day. Enough talking. People are hungry.

Ordered my fav fish and chips then Alabama burger for hena and a starter platter which is this one up here. Generous amount of nachos, spinach cheese dip, buffalo hot wings, crusty fried prawn, garlic steam prawns and seafood balls. Its more than enough to feed 3 hungry stomach. Love the dip and the prawns. Delish. A warning, this platter is huge and eating prawns is very kenyang after 5 or 6 pieces unless you are some monster prawnster.

I always feel that eating american food is a gastronomic challenge. The generous portion and the deep-frying here and there cheese cheese hulalala can make you go.."please enough..I am bloated", just after cleaning 1/4 of the plate. Banyak tak habis. But luckily we can have it packed to bring back home. I love that. Selepas kenyang gila, we forgot about the dessert. Nasib baik it was just a MINI dessert. Chocolate chip cookie sundae.

The verdict?..Tony Roma is better. But for the prawns, it is to die for yummy. And don't forget to order the smoothies. The Alabama smoothie is like we died and went to heaven and back here again. Peanut butterly foodgasm.!

Fruity Booty

Semua orang nak makan Tutti Frutti. Never had one so Abang bought us one. The biggest cup. With all sorts of yogurt ice-cream goodness and entah apa-apa toppings. Then wallah, a cup of kaching. It cost RM 25++. I was blind sided. Really?? I prefer splurging on a tall glass of latte. I think that is cheaper than this. Word.

Fly to Soul

Abang always wanted to eat korean buffet and Seoul Garden was the answer. We went there for lunch just us siblings , Abang belanja. Hihi. Thus we went there with high hopes of getting utterly full.

Just saying, there was plenty of food to go crazy over. The marinated chicken and beef are in many varieties. From chili marinated chicken to the weirdo; coffee marinated chicken. Seafood? Okay lah. The mussels I like. Loads of vegies and noodles and a very interesting spread of korean sauces. MUST TRY each one of those. Some are nice and half are horrible. Daebak.

By the time we gobbled almost every food item, it was time to turn on to the dessert bar. You can shave yourself some ice and have cendol or ABC buatan sendiri then eat some more ice-cream. Anyways we were practically at a limit thus for dessert we only eat sikit sahaja.

The final bill for 3 person showing our student ID card was around RM76++. So its reasonable and very full-filling  Literally. Anyways sorry for not updating much. This foodventure happened weeks ago but got no time to update. Pretty sorry ah. Cheers!

Always wanted cheese fries, chilli fries or anything with fries or fries with anything. Who does not love potatoes?

Tadaaaaaaaa!..Wendy's suddenly had this on their menu. Sour cream and chives fries! What could be more delish than a combo of all my favourite things. Sour cream. Chives. Fries. RM 4.99. Worth every penny. Also with Wendy's chilli. Go try boleh tak?

Mama Mia : Cheesy

Mama wanted authentic Italian pizza at an Italian restaurant; better with a wood fire oven. After hours of browsing for 'Italian' joints we decided on Italiannese. I've heard and know about this place. Under the same roof as TGI Fridays. Reading through fellow foodies, there were mix reviews about this place. I was worried about the consistency because different branch serves better or not much of it. After contemplating on Gardens or Sunway, we drove to Italiannese Sunway Pyramid for weekend lunch.
The place is very italian with the chequered mats and the italian songs. As for starters, complimentary bread(italian baguette  i guess) served with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Italian much!

It has a very focus menu thus we ordered the quatro platter, margarita pizza and lasagna lavina. There were 4 of us but only 1 starter dish and 2 mains. That was a smart move because after eating those 3 dishes we were quite full. You wanna know why? Because the cheese rich goodness is something dude.

Above is the quatro platter (donno whether the spelling is correct). Consist of risotto balls, fried calamaris, mozzarella balls and fried onions and zucchini serve with classic tomato sauce and cheese sauce.  The thinly slice onions and zucchini (argh timun) was splendid. I like that. The cheese sauce. DAMN cheesy!. You just cannot stop. Oh. Before this, i never really had deep fried cheese thus the mozzarella ball was my first time. It was explosion of cheesy goodness in your mouth. I can only take one of that. A second was hard to swallow because it was too cheesy.

The margarita pizza was a tad disappointing but cheese wise it was nice. I think they have really good mozzarella cheese. The most sinful dish was the lasagna. I tell you, it was so sinfully cheesy, i think i have to run 2 fields to burn that off.

The final bill for everything plus 2 smoothies and 1 bottomless ice lemon tea was RM 129++. If You ask me is it worth it? I tell you its kinda pricey but for a one off thing and really enjoyable italian feel, do visit Italiannese. The cheese is not going to dissappoint you.

Simply Sedap

After reading a few reviews from fellow foodie, we had our girls-day-out dinner at Simply Penang, Sunway Pyramid. The food is good and price is affordable. I recommend the Penang Fried Kuey Teow (RM 9.90), the Curry Mee (RM 8.90) and their Nasi Lemak...

The Curry Mee is my top pick. The kuah is not that thick and not that runny. The mee is a mix of mee kuning and mee hun. So i get the best of both worlds. There is tofu, fishballs, pieces of sotong, chicken slices, kerangs, crunchy long beans and best thing is the prawns are peeled! Saved me a lot of time eating dem. haha.
Oho do try the LOR BAK. We didnt order that. But i tried them before in Simply Penang in OU and its something you HAVE to try.

Its kinda like a kopitiam but i think better. I'll definitely go again..Maybe lunch pula? hee.
